Book of the Dead (Alternate Packaging) – Anchor Bay Entertainment
There is a different version of the Book of the Dead release out there. Essentially, it appears to be a more rental-freindly packaging with all of the same content from the Book of the Dead release.
Features and specifications identical to the Book of the Dead Limited Edition listed above (with the obvious exception of the packaging and the possible exclusion of the 24-Page “Bringing The Dead Home For Dinner” booklet).

-
Standard THX Edition
This edition was released the same time as the Book of the Dead edition, it contains the same new transfer, but it is missing a few of the extra features found only on the Book of the Dead edition and obviously the Book of the Dead packaging. It is worth noting that the French 2.0 language track and the “Ladies of The Evil Dead” booklet are both exclusive to this release.

-
Special Collectors Edition – Elite
For a while this was the best version of The Evil Dead available on DVD. However, the new Book of the Dead edition now holds that spot. We don’t recommend picking this one up unless you absolutely MUST own the full frame version of the movie. If you’ve already got it, the decision on whether to upgrade to the Book of the Dead edition is up to you.

Standard Edition
This is the original bare bones release. It comes packaged in a jewel case, much like a standard CD case, only taller. There is no booklet insert where the cover of the DVD would go. Instead, the DVD itself has 5 different styles, and the inside tray artwork (pictured here) matches the disc itself.
