I freaked when I watched the vid on youtube after hearing that there was a horror montage. But out of all vids why that one? Was pretty damn happy anyway to see Evil Dead 2 make the cut.

There was serious flaws in that montage. Edward Scissorhands and Twilight are NOT horror movies. And having two Twilighters announce it was a very bad idea. Usually the Oscars give horror no attention hence why I refuse to watch it, and when they finally did (give Roger Corman an award only NOW when he's so old he can croak any second...) and then give a horror montage with flaws, there stands the reason why the Oscars do not know crap and was sloppy with an adequate horror montage (giving huge airtime to ANOES and The Shining, but had no videos whatsoever of movies like Candyman, The Thing, They Fly, while adding movies like Leperchaun).

I saw it, although it was so quick I almost didn't recognize it.  I told my wife "Hey, I think I just saw Evil Dead on the Oscars!"

I agree that some of the selections in the montage were questionable (like Twilight & Scissorhands mentioned by Elise).  I'm a big fan of The Shining though, so that didn't bother me.  Smiley

I was actually about to stop watching the show when they announced an upcoming tribute to Horror films.  I had a good feeling I'd catch at least a brief glimpse of Bruce in there somewhere, and I was right.  Although, I was counting on a ED2 "groovy" clip instead.  I have no doubt that Raimi will make his way on to that stage again at some point, but for Bruce, well, I hope you enjoyed it folks!  Wink

Really? Because they had tons from A Nightmare on Elm Street too. And many other main ones just re-hashed as well. Not that I have anything against that film. It's my favorite after the ED trilogy and Braindead! A lot of the Shining too. Really though, I felt like that video clip was seriously flawed.
